Support for Yosif Panov – “The Viper”

Support for professional boxer Yosif Panov – “The Viper”, a former UBO world champion and one of the recognised representatives of sport in Pleven.

Yosif Panov – “The Viper” is a professional boxer from Pleven, originally from the village of Bukovlak. He made his professional debut in 2014 and has built a career marked by victories and national and international titles.

In October 2023, Yosif Panov won the UBO world title in the welterweight division. In the same year, he was also named UBO Boxer of the Year.

His journey from Bukovlak to professional boxing is a story of consistency and dedication to sport. His early career included travelling between Bukovlak and Pleven for training, as well as long journeys home after practice.

In 2024, the Pleven Municipal Council unanimously awarded Yosif Panov the title of “Honorary Citizen of Pleven Municipality” in recognition of his sporting achievements and contribution to the development of sport.

On 25 April 2026, Panov returned to the professional ring in front of his home crowd in Pleven and defeated Yoniker Tovar by technical knockout in the first round. It was his first professional fight in front of the Pleven audience.

Our support is aimed at the development of professional sport and at giving young people the opportunity to see athletes such as Yosif Panov as examples of what can be achieved through discipline, perseverance and sport.
